LYRICS
I won’t be that girl that sings for free at your show,
I won’t be that girl that lives in all your big dreams, you know,
I won’t be that girl that…….across the dance floor
As you stare at her back, she don’t even know,
I won’t be the one….you can’t run to
Young female singer, high voice, I’d guess African American, slow beat, trumpet & sax main accompanying instruments.
Search so far keeps telling me I am ‘mis-remembering” the lyrics & insisting this is a song recorded by Carly Pearce. Nope.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. Fabulous song, soundtrack on a YouTube short: now added to my Spotify playlist. Never heard of the Love Rights. At 74, soundtracks on YouTube shorts have introduced me to a whole new world of previously unknown artists. I now understand far better how neglected, commercially, and by the major record companies, African American artists were through my lifetime. And probably still are, relatively speaking.
