My 8 year old son has this. It does seem to happen when he is stressed or anxious. How he helps himself is by licking his fingers and rubbing his ear with the saliva. Now that is a little older he thinks people at school are noticing this and he is getting embarrassed about it!!! I feel so bad for him. Any suggestions for him? I'll have him try the tongue technique. Has anyone seen a neurologist, dermatologist or an ENT? I just don't understand if there are all these posts on this thread why is RES so rare. Only 100 reported cases! Whatever!!!!
