Hi Guys! I'm looking at the year all these comments and suggestions have, this is like 10 years old. Anyway, I ended up here and while reading all these comments I realized what was actually the problem causing my ear to be red and hot.
If you are reading this there is a slight possibility that you grind your teeth, even if you do it asleep and don't know.
The grinding causes your jaw to have more tension and that lowers the blood flow in it and that affects other parts near/connected to your jaw, including your ears.
try putting some ice on your jaw and below your ear and that should help out. I would also recommend you get a guard for your teeth.
Let me know if this works, if anyone even sees it!
