Found this song on YT a couple years ago but forgot to save it to my playlist. Trying to find it again and after typing a couple lyrics I did remember, Google AI found the lyrics to the entire song but won't give me a name or artist. The vocalist is male and the YT video was just the album cover picture, Nov an actual music video. I think the song is from 2020+ but might be a couple years older. Really not sure. Please help if you can. Lyrics below.
(Verse 1)
In the roaring twenties, the jazz played loud and clear But a law was on the books, a nation filled with fear The temperance movement strong, they said "no more to drink"
Prohibition took its hold, the people had to think
(Chorus)
They took a stand against the ban, in secret they would meet
Speakeasies hidden, where the drinks were sweet
A glass of hooch, a bootlegger's call
The Roaring Twenties fought back, defying one and all
(Verse 2)
Flappers danced and Charlestoned, with a hidden flask In hand
The mobsters ran the trade, across the land
From Chicago to New York, the liquor flowed unseen
A rebellion brewing, against the law so mean
(Chorus)
They took a stand against the ban, in secret they would meet
Speakeasies hidden, where the drinks were sweet
A glass of hooch, a bootlegger's call
The Roaring Twenties fought back, defying one and all
(Bridge)
The cops would raid the clubs, but the party wouldn't stop
The people found a way, to raise their glasses up
A silent protest, a rebellion in plain sight
Against the dry decree, they fought with all their might
(Chorus)
The cops would raid the clubs, but the party wouldn't stop
The people found a way, to raise their glasses up
A silent protest, a rebellion in plain sight
Against the dry decree, they fought with all their might
(Chorus)
They took a stand against the ban, in secret they would meet
Speakeasies hidden, where the drinks were sweet
A glass of hooch, a bootlegger's call
The Roaring Twenties fought back, defying one and all
(Outro)
The roaring twenties, a time of wild desire
The fight against prohibition, set the nation on fire
A generation raised their voices, against the law so strict
