I have high hopes this magnificent group can identify a tune for me. I believe it may be from a mid 20th century musical. The chorus begins “I remember, I remember....”, to the rhythm dum di dum dum, dum di dum dum. (For the musical, “dotted crotchet, quaver, minim, minim,minim rest” and repeat. CBBA,BAAG,AGGFEDCCCDE). It is not a setting of the Thomas Hood poem which starts with the same four words. I am acutely aware of the irony of not being able to remember the name of a song called “I remember”.
