What about NEW JERSEY? In the "Mother Simpson" episode, where Homer discovers his mom is still alive, Homer thinks Walt Whitman's tomb stone is his mother's. In reality, Walt Whitman is buried at Harleigh Cemetary in Camden, New Jersey. Also, in the "Stark Raving Dad" episode, Leon (the man who acts like Michael Jackson) says, "I'm a bricklayer from Paterson, New Jersey." In the "Two Bad Neighbors" episode, the Simpsons live near George Bush Sr... who has resided in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Ohio, Texas, Virginia, Maine and New Jersey. In the "The Wizard Of Evergreen Terrace" episode, Homer and Bart drive to the Edison's Menlo Park Laboratory in New Jersey. In "The Mansion Family", Springfield Nuclear Power Plant's cooling towers are visible from international waters, twelve miles off the coast of America. Plus, Springfield Nuclear Power Plant is on Interstate 95, which runs along the east coast of the USA from Florida all the way through Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts and New Hampshire to Maine. There are several episodes which hint to the Simpsons living near water on the east coast... similar to the characteristics of New Jersey (as well as surrounding states). There is a ship deporting immigrants, a beach, lighthouse and a bridge similar to the Memorial Bridge located in Springfield, Massachusettes. However, I don't think they live in Massachusetts because Homer yells at Sideshow Bob, "Go back to Massachusetts, pinko!" in the "Sideshow Bob's Last Gleaming" episode. Of course, there is also the similar-looking Vachel Lindsay Memorial Bridge found in Springfield, Illinois. Thus, continuing the confusion!
