It is only a clue," is absolutely retarded. They have blatantly stated throughout the show that the family lives in Springfield. The city is not the question, it is the state in which the city of Springfield lies that is up for debate here. The kids go to Springfield Elementary, Homer works at the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant, etc. Every single mention of the city gives its name as Springfield. Unless you care to prove a differing view point, and explain why everybody works and goes to school and does every other major event in a random town named Springfield, which they DO NOT live in according to you, then I have no choice besides persisting in my belief that you really don't have any more of an idea than anyone else, and probably have even less of an idea. There is no other reason why you would come to such a huge revelation, and then not share it, unless you are either being an ass, or you really don't know what you're talking about.
